  • (1888PressRelease) November 18, 2011 - Band-Aid, organized by six Taiwan indie bands - Silmo, P!SCO, Braces, Silly What, Mary Bites Kerry and PepperCats - threw a Halloween party at Taipei's Village Café for their fans. Dressed in costumes evoking as Amy Whitehouse, the Joker, chinese royalty and lots ghost, each bands performed songs from the other bands repertoire, a first time on stage that became the highlight of the event.

Dressed as Angelina Jolie in "Changeling", Slimo vocalist UJ is well-known for her extreme, over-the-top performing style. You'd hardly believe that she moonlights as a professional TV weather reporter. Commenting on her contrasting roles, UJ said "You have to be serious, well-discipline and professional while reporting live on a TV newscast. You can't really make any mistakes. However, I can just be myself on stage as a vocalist."

That night, Silmo turned to their 'light rock' style to reinterpret the song 'Q girl' by heavy punk band Silly What and they rocked the house. Silly What lead singer Huster commented that it was a bold move for Silmo, but they actually loved it and started talking about teaming up and working something new for next time.

Over the five years since the band came on the scene, Silmo has developed their own 'light rock' music style. "Start making some noise (music) and make you happy" or "Bang on music and be happy" is their mission statement. In recent years, Silmo have been performing Taiwan's major musical festivals and are hoping for opportunities to go overseas.
