Triangle Writers Opens Spring 2012 Writing Workshops in Raleigh
Triangle Writers, a group of writers from Raleigh-Durham and surrounding areas, announces their spring writing workshops. The writing events will take place this May and June in Raleigh.

Saturday, May 12, 10:30AM-12:30PM - Humorous Memoir: Learn about humorous memoir writing from a comedian who focused on turning life experiences into comedic stories during her MFA studies. Paul Pazderka is the Artistic Director of DSI Comedy Theater in Carrboro. She formerly studied in Chicago at ImprovOlympic and she holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the Art Institute of Chicago. Paula has conducted interactive improv workshops for professional growth for years; most recently she has worked with Motorola, Duke University, Durham County Health Department, the Chapel Hill Carrboro Chamber, SUN (Southern University Newspapers) Conference and Leadership Triangle. $35.00
Saturday, May 19, 10:30AM-12:30PM - Aromas and Creativity: This one-of-a-kind workshop uses aromas instead of words or objects as creative writing prompts. A certified aromatherapist has selected specific essential oils shown to increase creativity. $25.00 workshop fee also includes a gift bag of products and a "writer's potion" to take home.
Wednesday, June 6, 6:30PM-9:30PM - SEO Writing/Writing for the Web: This is the first-ever SEO Writing course available through Wake County's Lifelong Learning center. Web developers and designers used to be the gatekeepers to website creation and maintenance. Today, you can buy a domain and have a website up and running in very little time. But are you getting the results you expected? Without the right content, your websites have no value. When writing for the web, you need to know how to convey the company's story, so the target audience will find you. This course will explore how internet search engines work, how to create effective web content to boost organic rankings of websites and how to make an income writing content for the web. $60.00
Raleigh Writing Classes
All Saturday writing workshops take place at Nature's Pure Essentials (in the Five Points Area next to Lily's Pizza), 1809B Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC. SEO Writing takes place at Athens Drive High School, 1420 Athens Drive in Raleigh, NC. Advanced registration is required and can be made at taralynnegroth dot com.

Triangle Writers offers critique groups for mystery writers, novelists, screenwriters and creative non-fiction. There is even a virtual critique group for writers who are unable to attend in person. Critique groups are free to join and attend. Special workshops and query clinics are offered for an additional fee. The group is organized by Tara Lynne Groth, author and freelance writer based in Raleigh.
