Tri-Counties PODS teams with Toys for Tots to brighten the holidays for children in Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties
PODSŪ, an innovator in the moving and storage industry, will provide containers to serve as collection points for annual toy drive.
- Ventura, CA (1888PressRelease) October 15, 2010 - Tri-Counties PODS, a part of the PODS Enterprises, Inc. national franchise network, will donate usage of their portable storage containers in support of the Marine Toys for Tots' annual holiday toy drives in Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties.
Each year, from Oct. - Dec., Toys for Tots collects new, unwrapped toys and then distributes them as Christmas gifts to children in need. Toys for Tots campaigns are conducted in communities covering all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
"We are very excited to be working hand-in-hand with Toys for Tots this holiday season," said Steve Yapp, owner of the three Tri-County PODS businesses. "This collaboration makes perfect sense. With PODS' large franchise network serving 230 U.S. markets, we are pleased to do our part on the local level and contribute to the larger effort of providing storage containers to over 400 Toy for Tots collection locations."
The objectives of the annual Toys for Tots drive are to help children in need experience the joy of Christmas, to nurture the development of children, to unite members of local neighborhoods in a common cause and to contribute to the future betterment of communities. In the 63 years since the Toys for Tots program began, the Marines have distributed more than 419 million toys to more than 195 million underprivileged children.
"We were thrilled when PODS reached out to us," said Bill Grein, Toys for Tots Foundation vice president of marketing and a retired Marine. "Their assistance with the collection, storage and movement of donated toys will be instrumental in delivering holiday dreams to even more disadvantaged kids."
PODS moving and storage containers will be used to store donated toys at Toys for Tots collection points across the U.S. and PODS will provide transportation of the donated toys to local Toys for Tots distribution centers.
Founded in 1998, PODS Enterprises, Inc. operates corporate and franchise storage centers across the U.S., Canada, Australia and soon in the United Kingdom.
