Tovah Feldshuh, who most recently starred in AMC series "The Walking Dead," CW's "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend", will emcee charitable event this June where she will introduce bone marrow transplant recipients to their heroic, life-saving donors for the very first time.
- New York, NY (1888PressRelease) May 13, 2016 - It's going to be a special night. And she'll make it even more special.
For the Gift of Life Marrow Registry's annual gala on June 2, the mistress of ceremonies will be Broadway, Hollywood, and TV luminary Tovah Feldshuh. Front-and-center at the Grand Hyatt New York, Feldshuh will introduce bone marrow transplant recipients to their heroic, life-saving donors for the very first time.
"Our organization deals with an extremely serious matter, but our annual event is specifically intended to celebrate life," said Gift of Life's Founder and Chief Executive Officer Jay Feinberg, himself a 21-year survivor of a marrow transplant. "This is why Ms. Feldshuh will be such an ideal emcee. Her enthusiasm and energy are infectious, and she's a familiar face to so many people. By being there, she'll make it an even more life-affirming evening."
Based in New York, Feldshuh has enjoyed a long and richly varied career as an actress and singer. She recently had a leading role in the immensely popular AMC series "The Walking Dead" and earned her fourth Tony Award nomination in 2004 for "Golda's Balcony," which will be running at Toronto's Goodwin Theatre from June 5-19. Feldshuh is also known for her roles in the films "Kissing Jessica Stein," "Lady in the Water," "Brewster's Millions," and "A Walk on the Moon."
This year's Gift of Life gala honoree is Feldshuh's close friend, New York resident Wendy Siegel, a bone marrow transplant recipient and wife of Stephen Siegel, chairman of Global Brokerage at CBRE, the world's largest commercial real estate services company. In addition to meeting her donor, Siegel will receive the Partners in Life award for her service to others in need. Other award recipients include the Real Estate Board of New York and the Alpha Epsilon Pi Foundation. The gala will be attended by 1,400 guests, many of whom are leaders in the field of commercial real estate.
