- (1888PressRelease) February 28, 2013 - Cloud security leader Total Defense today reported the achievement of significant milestones in calendar year 2012. Notable achievements include the December launch of the ground breaking Total Defense for Business, significant customer traction, strengthening consumer market partnerships, and key executive hires that position Total Defense for continued market innovation and growth.
"We think 2013 will be our breakout year," said Paul Lipman, CEO of Total Defense. "The news headlines of 2012 showed that malware attacks are gaining prevalence, and the legacy protections of the past from desktop AV to gateway security are not keeping up."
Total Defense focused heavily on product development, introducing two significant solutions to the market in 2012: Total Defense for Business and Total Defense Unlimited. Total Defense for Business is the industry's first and only solution that leverages the power, flexibility and ease of use of cloud computing, with the delivery of complete multi-layered protection, through the integration of three critical security technologies: advanced endpoint anti-malware and application controls; Web filtering and malware protection, and anti-spam and email threat prevention. Total Defense Unlimited is the first and only consumer security solution that provides protection for an unlimited number of devices for an unlimited number of users in the same household, all for a low monthly subscription. Both products leverage the broad threat intelligence capabilities of Total Defense's global cloud security network.
Total Defense for Business has received critical acclaim and substantial market penetration with nearly 1,000 organizations having already adopted the technology. Rapidly accelerating customer uptake drove a 25 percent increase in new license bookings, and the company expects cloud services to represent over 50 percent of its business in the first quarter of 2013, with a record number of larger account sales over 5,000 seats. Notable recent account wins include Amtrak, Wabco, Wyndham Hotels and Catholic Healthcare.
The company also saw significant growth in its consumer subscription business, as a result of partners' and customers' accelerating adoption of Total Defense Unlimited. Consumer subscription licenses increased over 200 percent, with notable new account wins including Staples, Office Max and Frys.
Total Defense strengthened its leadership team with key executive hires in 2012. Oscar Marquez joined the company in July as its Chief Product Officer, with over 20 years of security experience. He previously served as CEO of iSheriff, a pioneering leader in cloud security, which was acquired by Total Defense. Bradley Anstis joined Total Defense as Vice President, Product Strategy in December 2012. Anstis is a renowned cloud security industry thought leader, having previously led technical strategy and industry evangelism at M86 Security, with prior experience at NetIQ and Citrix.
"Our success in 2012 in product innovations, customer traction, and team building validate our ability to deliver something the market desperately needs - a fundamentally new and improved approach to security," said Mr Lipman. "We are proud of our results and the hard work of our team in 2012, and we look forward to accelerating that growth and success in 2013."
Mr. Lipman will be presenting at AGC's 9th Annual West Coast InfoSec and Technology Growth Conference on February 25th in San Francisco.
