Toronto's The Nursery Release New Ep Packed With Ambitious And Dynamic Synth-pop Compositions
The Nursery is a vibrant, experimental synth-pop foursome from Toronto who weave dreamlike atmospheres into indie pop that is simultaneously dark, hypnotic and euphoric. Their new EP, Digital Ashes, sees the band come into their own with a bigger, bolder and more cohesive sound.
- (1888PressRelease) July 28, 2016 - Toronto's synth-pop foursome The Nursery are back with a new EP entitled Digital Ashes. Recorded in a converted monastery in Buffalo, NY by Justin Rose (James Taylor, Lil' Wayne), the dramatic space left its mark on the tracks. It was mixed in Toronto by Mike Rocha (Electric Youth, Greys) and mastered by Joćo Carvalho (Lights, Arkells, Alt-J).
Chartattack.com has been streaming the EP, describing the sound as "big and glossy, 3D-modelled, rose quartz and serene-colored pop music".
The band recently released a video for the title track, Digital Ashes, exploring the paradoxical fragility of digital data through dizzying glitch sequences, post-internet visuals and virtual reality.
They will be touring this fall in support of the EP before releasing their debut full-length LP.
