Toronto Rapper/Songwriter Ivason Black Releases New Song
The song feels like classic 1990’s hip hop laced with nuances of old school R&B and funk a la Roger (Zapp).
- (1888PressRelease) April 18, 2019 - Toronto, ON – Ivason Black is excited to announce the release of his new Hip Hop single ‘We Been Waiting’, on all major digital platforms.
The final installment on the forthcoming EP ‘5ive to the 6ix’ from this Scarborough born emcee and legendary producer Know-It, has arrived. This song speaks on the state of hip hop from a personal perspective without tearing down the status quo. The smooth and mellow soundscape combined with Mr. Black’s distinct voice and flow create a funky experience, to say the least.
This track was recorded in Ivason Black’s personal home studio on a beat crafted at SLS Studio’s by Jay aka Know-It out in Cambridge, Ontario. It started with the single ‘PoP Star’ and quickly ballooned into an EP. The chemistry was obvious and the working relationship symbiotic. The five song EP is evidence.
The song feels like classic 1990’s hip hop laced with nuances of old school R&B and funk a la Roger (Zapp). Ivason Black laces the hook with three octaves and zero auto-tune although it’s evident on the quirky adlibs that liven the chorus, intro and outro. Each verse is clear and concise with just the right amount of word play to reinforce the songs message.
