The performances of these two machines are depending on several parameters. The designing of these machines is important to prevent any failure or damage to the machine and indirectly improving the productivity and efficiency. Design part is a major factor affects the machine operability and need to ensure high operating efficiency of all components.
As they are being applied daily in the production site, the operation and maintenance parts should be handled carefully and effectively to minimize the chances for major maintenance cost or even replacement with a new machine.
Through Workshop 1, you will strengthen your strategy in designing, operating and maintaining Centrifugal Compressor and from Workshop 2, you will explore the strategic techniques to improve your design, operation and maintenance of Gas Turbine. Each topic is covered with an exercise.
We provide a mixture of desktop and computer simulator exercises to teach fundamentals enabling the delegate to understand the basic principles of operation, not theoretically as in a technical education but practically from a real world operational point of view. By concentrating on fundamentals and practicalities, you do not get confused by the features and benefits of different vendors machines, you can understand similarities and differences allowing you to choose the right tool for the job, and then to operate and look after the machine in the right way.
Ronald Frend- our workshop instructor, is a registered engineer, and has almost forty years of engineering, consulting and management experience. He rose to a senior management position in Shell International before opening an engineering consultancy in England. Ron has worked extensively in Fitness For Service applications and now presents training courses for ASME in FFS and Materials worldwide. Ron has pioneered the use of Potential Failure Analysis (PFA) - a technique in which all possible modes of failure are examined before a failure occurs. This allows the engineers to put in place monitoring mechanisms to give advance warning of impending failures.
Ron used his experience and expertise of maintenance, reliability and engineering to formulate a practical methodology for effective control of maintenance activities. His clients include the big names in Shell Oil, Shell Tankers, KPO, Kuwait Petroleum Company, SABIC, Saudi Aramco, Huisman (Netherlands), Noble Drilling Co, Petroleum Development (Oman), Landrover, Ford Motor Co, General Motors.
