Mr. Jamil Hamidan, Minister of Labor, Bahrain, Dr. Mona Rashid Al-Zayani, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Gulf University, and Prof. Mohanad Al-Mashhdani, President of the university. Twenty-eight (28) top private sector institutions and companies participated in this career showcase.
Prof. Mohanad Al-Mashhdani, President of Gulf University, highlighted the importance of Career Day in bridging the gap between job-seeking students and private sector opportunities. "Career Day is a significant event where companies showcase valuable information, enabling direct communication and interaction between employers and students," he said. "This platform allows graduates and soon-to-be graduates from Gulf University to identify the skills and experience required by the workforce, ultimately accelerating their integration into the labor market."
President emphasized the event's role in providing employment opportunities and explained that Gulf University organizes it to support students and graduates in launching their careers successfully. The event offers an interactive environment for them to connect directly with representatives from various companies and institutions.
The opening ceremony program included speeches by esteemed guests: His Excellency Mr. Jamil Hamidan, Minister of Labor, and Mr. Ali Al-Sharafi, founder of the Times Youth Media Platform. Additionally, the ceremony featured inspiring success stories from the university's grads.
Prof. Mashhadani noted that the high turnout of participants reflects industry satisfaction with the Gulf University graduates' skillset. He highlighted how companies praise GU graduates for their commitment, discipline, and strong professional ethics.
