Tokyo Designers Week Celebrates 25 Years
Asia's biggest design event expects record number of visitors.
- (1888PressRelease) August 10, 2010 - TOKYO, Japan - Over 100,000 visitors are expected to attend the 25th anniversary of Tokyo Designers Week on October 29. The event has become a landmark on the international design calendar, this year will be the biggest exhibition yet as thousands of creators descend on the world's trendiest capital.
New Environmental Design Theme - 'Love Blue'
Designer Gwenael Nicolas unveiled his vision for the annual event on July 29, 2010. The new theme is entitled 'Love Blue - Environmental Design Exhibition', building on the success of last years 'Green' theme.
"The intension of this shift from 'green' to blue is to show our determination to serve a greater environmental purpose. Green signified plants and land whereas the Blue signifies the sky and sea, which unite the land together." Commented Nicolas.
Tokyo Designers Week to host a raft of exhibitions including:
• Professional Exhibition - Leading professional designers to show their works up close
• Student Exhibition - The future leaders of the design industry exhibit their work
• Container Exhibition - Shipping containers transformed into mini exhibition spaces
• Tent Exhibition - Vast structure to house thousands of designer works
• Tent Shop - Products available to buy directly from creators
• Cube Exhibition - Aspiring designers challenged to show their work within 1 meter square
• Shop Partnership - Hundreds of shops, cafes and galleries across to Tokyo partner with TDW
