  • Pittsburgh, PA (1888PressRelease) July 19, 2013 - TMI, LLC recently developed a new proprietary process control system for its flexible PVC extrusion process. The newly developed system guarantees that there is complete dimensional pull and uniformity throughout the bulk PVC rolls that are produced.

The new proprietary process avoids the possibility of "racetracking" or the tendency of the material bending slightly to one side when unwound. It also eliminates the possibility of uneven shrinkage, lay-flat issues, and gage and width variations, providing an entirely uniform product.

"It takes the art out of the plastics process and makes it more of a science," Bill Habeck, General Manager of TMI's PVC extrusion facility, said. "Prior to the new control, operators would have to manually adjust the line to maintain consistency on a product-to-product basis. This takes the guesswork out," Habeck said.

TMI extrudes a variety of flexible PVC strip, panel and sheet in a wide range of gage sizes, from .030" up to .500". Extruded PVC products from TMI are manufactured to have unparalleled quality. To learn more about TMI's extrusion capabilities, call 1-800-888-9750.
