The end result has been a significant increase in positive customer feedback.

    The recent industry focus on customer experience design has included recommendations such as:
    • Daily reviews of guest details that will be arriving for the day, in order to get ready for special requirements
    • Escorting guests who are searching for a facility or service within the hotel, rather than directing
    • Where the most attractive, functional or pragmatic option for hotel guests is not known, to research it

    Mrs. Somrudee Nooner, Director of Sales and Marketing at Chateau de Bangkok, says that they are in the process of implementing many such measures to help create a pleasant customer experience. "Things like the guest review, and the 'escort rather than direct' policy will be the things that really make a difference to how customers feel about our Bangkok hotel".

    "Furniture and food alone cannot create a great customer experience - service is the key", Mrs. Nooner continued.

    Marc Schaub, manager of the Sukhumvit accommodation facility, has also added his personal touch to the service, stopping wearing a tie, but maintaining an impeccable service attitude. "We want our guests to relax and enjoy themselves. If I wear a tie, it seems stiff and formal. We are a friendly place that specializes in personalized service and we want to communicate this to our customers", said Mr Schaub.

    In the past six months, Chateau de Bangkok has jumped several positions on the popular travel reviews website, TripAdvisor, making their way from 138 to 125 of 520 hotels currently listed in Bangkok. Since September, 2008, the boutique Bangkok hotel has had nothing but 5-star reviews on TripAdvisor.
