Thousands are expected to attend American Revolution 2.0’s Memorial Day Rally for Freedom in response to Governor JB Pritzker’s statewide Stay at Home orders and business closures.
Chicago, IL (1888PressRelease) May 22, 2020 - Thousands are expected to attend American Revolution 2.0’s Memorial Day Rally for Freedom in response to Governor JB Pritzker’s statewide Stay at Home orders and business closures. Various concerned individuals and bipartisan groups are sending a message to Governor Pritzker regarding the harmful, unconstitutional measures enacted in response to COVID-19.
We the People of Illinois demand our elected officials:
1. Lift the “lockdown” of all businesses, including those not deemed “essential” as this has caused unemployment to skyrocket, businesses to permanently close and others to declare bankruptcy. In addition, families will go hungry as a result of having no means of financial support. Mental illness and suicide due to depression from isolation caused by this policy should also be considered along with child abuse — now on the rise — and domestic violence.
2. Leave the wearing of protective attire up to the individual, per our US Constitution, and as various doctors have stated that mask-wearing and glove-wearing may offer negligible protection and even have detrimental effects to the health of the wearer.
3. Open all State Parks and Facilities, as these are funded by We the People through our tax dollars, and the use of these is proven to be healthful to the public.
Please note these demands do not prevent any individuals or groups from sheltering at home, practicing social distancing, wearing protective gear or closing their businesses according to their own opinions and at their own discretion.
Despite repeated event removal by Facebook we concerned individuals and groups will host a mass demonstration at City Hall, 121 La Salle St. Chicago, IL, starting at 12 PM on Monday, May 25th. Thousands on foot as well as in vehicles are expected. Demonstrators are exercising their first amendment constitutional right to free speech and the right to assemble peaceably to petition their government.
