Thomas & Hutton Raising Money And Collecting Items To Support Street Reach, Missions In Motion
The employees of Thomas & Hutton are donating their time and money to support those in need and that are less fortunate.
- (1888PressRelease) January 22, 2011 - Myrtle Beach, SC - Each Friday at Thomas & Hutton employees can wear jeans to work if they donate $5 to an employee selected charity. For the month of January Thomas & Hutton employees are wearing jeans for Street Reach, Missions in Motion. We are also collecting items Street Reach is in need of: Bleach, Pine-Sol, toilet paper, paper towels, Styrofoam cups and plates, 40 gallon (or larger) garbage bags, spiral notebooks, oatmeal, sugar, coffee, creamer, Texas Pete hot sauce, and monetary donation to help with utilities. About Street Reach, Myrtle Beach: Street Reach Mission, a 501c3 non-profit Christian Corporation, is a ninety-bed facility that provides emergency shelter and supportive services to men and women throughout the Grand Strand area. Street Reach officers services to people regardless of where they came from or how they arrived there. In July 2008, thanks to the generosity and tenacity of many special individuals and organizations, Street Reach moved into a new facility on Ocala Street in downtown Myrtle Beach more than doubling its capacity to serve the homeless population.
Street Reach accepts men and women with the incentive to obtain employment within a five-day period. Upon verification of employment, they may remain at the Mission for an additional 25 days. During the thirty-day period, we attempt to assess the contributing factors which led to homelessness and offer what help we can to lift them out of their current circumstance. We manage two programs, which run concurrently at Street Reach: The 521 Program and the Drug & alcohol Rehabilitations Program.
