Third power auction for 2011 closed
Last auction of the series expected to be held in August.
- (1888PressRelease) July 01, 2011 - In the third RWE power auction for the year 2011, European industrial companies purchased 225 megawatts (MW) of power for delivery in the year 2012. Prices reached €57.51 per MWh for the base-load product; no offers were made for the profiled product*. On 21 June 2011, the day before the auction, the base-load product was being traded on the EEX for €57.93 per MWh.
At these quarterly auctions, RWE offers industrial companies around 1,575 MW annually from hard-coal and lignite power plants for the 2009 to 2012 supply period. This equates to a total power volume of 6,300 MW or 46,000 GWh.
The last power auction for the 2012 supply year will probably be held on 11 August 2011. More information for any interested companies is available from www.rwe-stromauktion.com
