    The Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel and Spa and Hyatt Carmel Highlands Overlooking Big Sur Coast announced today that they will hold their Third Annual Wish Upon a Tree Fundraiser. The event will take place on Sunday, April 22nd from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. on the Oak Tree Terrace the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel and Spa located at 1 Old Golf Course Road in Monterey.

    Wish Upon A Tree is a reception to benefit the CASA of Monterey County and Animal Friends Rescue Project (AFRP). Join Hyatt Regency Monterey and Hyatt Carmel Highlands as the two properties honor Earth Day on Sunday, April 22nd. Trees will be available for purchase with all proceeds to benefit CASA and AFRP. Trees are available in sizes ranging from 1 gallon to 30 gallon and range in price from $25 to $500. The 15 and 30 gallon trees will be taken to Toro Park in Salinas and be planted on Arbor Day Friday, April 27th at 11:00 a.m. by Hyatt associates as well as members of the community. Everyone in the community is invited to pitch in and plant a tree. Toro Park will provide shovels and guidance on Arbor Day for the tree planting.

    For the Third Annual Wish Upon a Tree on Sunday, April 22nd there is a $25.00 per person donation to attend and the donation includes:
    • Hyatt food samplings by Chef Russell Young. The culinary creations will be inspired by local trees
    • Wine station hosted by Ventana Vineyards
    • Chair massages by Accista Spa
    • Listen to live music
    • Get your photo taken at our Wish Upon A Tree photo station

    Donations will be accepted without your presence to the CASA or AFRP.
    Children 10 and under are free for general admission. There will be a creation station available for children as well as a special children's menu. A $15.00 donation will allow a child to enter the creation station, select a personal sapling, a terra cotta pot to paint and decorate the pot to take home with their tree!

    Attendees will learn about the environment, support a good cause, enjoy tantalizing appetizers and wine and support two local charities! There will be information booths on site from Eco-Carmel, PG&E, CASA of Monterey County, AFRP will have dogs for adoption and more! Robert Reid, Urban Forester for The City of Monterey will be on hand to answer questions.
