Thinkware Announces Uk Launch Of Its First Sport Dash Cam
Designed to withstand all weather conditions, the M1 is the perfect dash cam for motorsport and motorbike enthusiasts.
- (1888PressRelease) June 18, 2019 - THINKWARE, the world-leading dash cam company, has today announced the UK launch of its first motorsport dash cam, the M1. The outdoor activity camera is the latest addition to the THINKWARE portfolio, designed to withstand all wild and dynamic weather conditions.
The brand-new two channel, full high definition dash cam is weatherproof and water resistant making it the perfect choice of camera for motorbike and motorsport enthusiasts. The M1 can be installed on bikes and externally on motorsport and other outdoor vehicles and will withstand rainy, windy, dusty and muddy conditions. The IP66 rating, which defines effectiveness against intrusion, of the M1 also makes it a perfect camera for agricultural vehicles.
Differentiating itself from its competitors, the M1 comes with enhanced night vision and the front camera’s electronic image stabilisation with a built in Gyro senor keeps footage clear. This ensures blurring is minimised during high speeds or difficult terrain meaning users get smooth and steady recordings in all conditions that a vehicle may be travelling in.
Equipped with Sony Starvis sensors the front and rear cameras excel in capturing images in low level lighting. The 1080p high definition resolution also ensures the M1 records during the day and night and the 140-degree wide angle lens view means blind spots are minimised.
Using the GPS data, the M1 can plot the user’s vehicle location and helps to accurately assess the status of an incident by providing important information such as the vehicle speed, direction of the collision.
Tim Sagar, THINKWARE Business Development Manager, says: “The M1 opens up new markets for us and we are looking forward to competing with the likes of GoPro in the motorsport segment, where it is a mandatory requirement to record footage both at the front and the rear.
“The manual record button on this product means you can record an infringement and immediately at the end of the race download it to your phone and send it to the stewards. Existing solutions are too complex and time consuming, so everyone has gone home before you can make a claim, which could mean the difference between winning or losing a race. Also, if your camera battery is flat you are disqualified”.
The THINKWARE M1 is available from www.thinkwaredashcam.uk, RAC, Amazon and through independent UK retailers. Pricing is £459.
The M1 is controlled by two buttons mounted on the handlebars that activate the WiFi or manual record feature. Footage can be viewed via mobile application. The M1 supports format Free technology meaning footage is saved on the memory card in an orderly fashion, reducing the potential for data errors.
