- (1888PressRelease) October 28, 2013 - Chicago, IL - Dog Ring LLC announced today they have chosen Patriot PAWS as the beneficiary of a new corporate program that will dedicate a percentage of proceeds of sales to training more service dogs and getting them into the homes of waiting Veterans in need.
A donation from Dog Ring LLC has been made to the fund and will be made quarterly hereafter. Dog Ring LLC have also asked dog bloggers to assist in this effort by affixing a Patriot PAWS donation widget to their sites, and spreading the word. Dog Ring LLC is hopeful that dog loving readers of their site and participating sites will contribute what they can to cut the wait list time for the Veterans signed up at Patriot PAWS from 5 years, to half that.
"This is a lofty, but worthwhile goal and we hope more bloggers want to get involved" David Wilder, CEO and inventor of dog products remarked. "Dog Ring LLC has made its first donation to Patriot PAWS. Our quarterly contributions will come from the soon to be available nationwide and first of its kind, The Dog Ring. This new invention solves the problem of tangled tie-out lines (dogs wrapped around trees) and the problem of trying to find more time to spend with your dog."
Wilder explained: "Now you can take your dog almost anywhere, securely, with The Dog Ring, a specially formulated hoop that fits and locks safely around posts and trees in parks, gardens, at family barbeques, and while hiking, camping, or taking road trips. The retractable or fixed leash (included) attaches to The Dog Ring giving your dog much more freedom to roam than a kennel". The crowd-funding campaign is live at Indiegogo - see the next best thing for dogs and judge for yourself.
You might ask why service dogs? Wilder, also a veteran, noted "There is a waiting list of 100 people at Patriot PAWS, and thousands more across the US hoping to live a more independent life. We want to do what we can to make a difference."
Patriot PAWS
Lori Stevens, Founder and Executive Director of Patriot PAWS since 2006, realized the great need that many of our disabled veterans have for service dogs after visiting the VA Hospital in Dallas to help a group of disabled veterans by training their dogs.
Since then, Patriot PAWS are diligently continuing to train and place dogs at no charge with individuals across the nation to help with their disabilities which range from back injuries, amputations, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injuries, seizures and more.
Patriot PAWS service dogs are in constant training for 18 to 24 months by prison inmates in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice prison program, volunteer puppy raisers and staff trainers. They learn behaviors including how to get help in emergencies or avert PTSD episodes, how to pick up and retrieve items or do chores such as laundry, they help brace a veteran to stand up and they even open doors. Stevens says, "We owe them more than we can ever repay, but we're doing what we can, four paws at a time."
Dog Ring LLC and David Wilder whole-heartedly agree and are proud to be associated with Patriot PAWS and their vital mission.
