  • (1888PressRelease) May 02, 2014 - VISTA, CA - The 1st Annual Chalk Alive, sponsored by Twin Oaks Gallery Art and Frame and brought to you by the Vista Chamber of Commerce, is an exciting and new addition to the 5th Annual Vista Strawberry festival is expected to attract more than 75,000 attendees.

    The Vista Chamber of Commerce is inviting artists to submit applications to participate in this event. Artists accepted to participate will be provided with the following:

    • Continental Breakfast, Lunch, Beverages and Sunscreen for Saturday, May 24 & Sunday, May 25, 2014
    • Chalk and $25 Gas Stipend (for all artists)
    • $500 Cash Prize for "Best of Show" (as determined by Judges)
    • Prize Basket for "People's Choice" Winner (as determined by attendees)

    About the Vista Strawberry Festival
    The Vista Strawberry Festival, sponsored by Mossy BMW of Vista is the only festival in San Diego County that celebrates all the joys and pleasures of the Strawberry. The Festival officially kicks off at the on Sunday, May 25, 2014, at 7:05 a.m. with the Strawberry Festival Run (10K, 5K, 1-Mile, ¼-Mile) sponsored by Robert Franks State Farm.

    The run, followed by a pie eating contest, strawberry costume contest, Strawberry Idol and much more, is certain to be a day full of food, fun, memories and of course - strawberries! The Chamber has extended this year's event by opening the kid's ride area on Friday, May 23, and will also include additional activities like a Strawberry Picking contest, Sidewalk Art displays, and a 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament.
