The Uk's First Top 50 Pet Bloggers Unveiled By Monster Pet Supplies
Monster Pet Supplies, the UK's fastest growing independent online pet supplies provider, has today revealed the country's greatest pet and animal bloggers with the launch of its new league table: The Monster 50.
- New York, NY (1888PressRelease) April 24, 2012 - Following weeks of researching, reading and analysis of hundreds of writers, a detailed ranking of the best animal and pet blogs in the United Kingdom has been unveiled.
Produced in partnership with Pet Product Marketing magazine, The Monster 50 list also reveals the UK's number one animal blogger as Brian's Pigeon Blog written by Brian the Pigeon who apparently lives in London. In his blog, Brian explains how life is for the pigeons of the capital and includes some brilliant creative photography that brings the whole blog to life.
Emma Gordon, Marketing Manager at monsterpetsupplies.co.uk commented: "Working in the pet sector, and as keen bloggers ourselves, we wanted to find, read and talk to other pet and animal writers. People feel so passionately about their pets, second only to their kids, so we felt sure that there would be some great bloggers out there - and we were right, but it was so hard to track them down!"
She added: We wanted to make it easy for other like-minded animal lovers to find these fascinating stories, so we've brought them all together in one place online: blog.monsterpetsupplies.co.uk/themonster50"
The Monster Pet Supplies team is encouraging new people to write warm, witty, interesting and insightful information about their animals and to tell them about it.
Successful authors which make The Monster 50 will be presented with a Badge of Honour which they can proudly feature on their site to show their readers. If a great blog has been overlooked authors can submit their blogs to The Monster 50 at blog.monsterpetsupplies.co.uk/themonster50
The second phase of The Monster 50 will see the formal launch of the Monster Pet Supplies Blogger Awards, which will examine a number of different categories in more detail, and look at the more creative side of online writing. Each of the blogger awards will be shortlisted by a panel of expert judges - including Neil Pope, editor of Pet Product Marketing and then placed online for the public to vote on. The awards will include several distinct categories including Best Dog Blogger, Best Cat Blogger, Best Small Animal Blogger, Best Horse Blogger and Most Creative Blog. On the competition, Neil said: "There's so much quality writing on the web - not just on our pets at home, but on wider matters including consumer and trade issues, or animal health and wellbeing. The Monster 50 is an ideal resource for fervent followers of one blog to increase their awareness of the other talented writers out there."
Those featured in the top 50 were analysed in context of their number of posts, comments and links directed at them from external sources. A level of human interpretation was then overlaid to avoid any spam or overtly SEO led blogs within the inaugural league table.
