  • (1888PressRelease) November 09, 2017 - The tourist potential of Russian capital will be presented by the officials of Moscow Department of Sport and Tourism in the World Travel Market that will take place from 6 to 8 November in London and is known as the leading global event for the travel industry. A press conference with the participation of Ekaterina Borisova, Head of Tourism Division of Department of Sport and Tourism under the conference theme “The tourist potential of Russian capital” is being organized on 6 November in the ExCeL London. During the press conference, representatives of business and media will get information about preparing for the upcoming Mundial. Ekaterina Borisova will tell about preparations of Moscow to host a massive influx of tourists and about steps which are being taken to ensure their safety. Russian information booth in Singapore will put you face to face with the representatives of Russian companies such as Crowne Plaza, museum-reserve Kolomenskoye, Infoflot, Tour Express, Izmailovo Alfa hotel, IBC Corporate Travel, Accor Hotels, Fremad Russia, Road to Moscow.

    The record tourists flow was registered in the Russian capital in 2016. 19 million people came to Moscow. Over 83,000 tourists arrived in Moscow from Great Britain. Moscow hotel infrastructure will allow the city to receive even more tourists and guests. The classification of Moscow hotels and hostels is being in progress constantly. 1,183 hotels and hostels have obtained star rating.

    It is expected that even greater number of British tourists, mostly fans, is to visit Moscow. Football matches will take place in the Spartak Stadium and the Luzhniki Grand Sports Arena. According to the initial estimates, Moscow is to host more than one million of football fans. Foreign tourists will be able to use the FAN ID card (Personalized card of the spectator) to enter Russia visa-free during the 2018 World Cup. The safety of tourists and fans is the key issue throughout the preparations for the 2018 World Cup. Moscow surveillance network includes over 142,000 cameras. In the Frost & Sullivan rankings, Moscow rated as one of the top-10 cities with the highest level of urban safety and advanced information and communication technology. A network of tourist information centres and tourist police with officers fluent in foreign languages had been established under the preparation for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Tourist police officers will help tourists if needed.
