About the Thomas Cook Golf League
The 3rd edition of the Thomas Cook Golf Indian League took place across 5 cities (Delhi/NCR, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Srinagar), 10 golf courses and offered 20 Qualifying tournaments + 1 Grand Finale. The total number of participants exceeded 1200 with over 1600 rounds of golf played.
The league offered distinctive scoring formats which were scored concurrently, providing an opportunity for all levels of golfers. The serious golfers were scored in the Gross Stableford format while the regular golfers were scored on the Nett Stableford format and played off 75% of their original handicaps. New golfers without a handicap were scored off a handicap system called the "Double Peoria" system. In this system, the players got a handicap for the day, based on a certain formula. In this manner, all levels of golfers got to compete together. As a special incentive, there were prizes on offer for lady golfers and also senior golfers above 75 years in age.
