Michigan AIDS Coalition Announces 2nd Annual DIFFA: DINING BY DESIGN Events.
- Detroit, MI (1888PressRelease) August 16, 2011 - The Michigan AIDS Coalition (MAC) in partnership with Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA) announces the second annual DINING BY DESIGN Detroit. Three days of events offering exhibits of exceptional art and fanciful dining vignettes will be held at Willy's Overland Lofts, 444 Willis Avenue, Detroit, Michigan beginning Thursday, September 22 - Saturday, September 24, 2011. Ann Duke of Marketshare, Kelly Deines from Rossetti and Bruce MacDonald from Art Van are the DIFFA co-chairs.
DIFFA: DINING BY DESIGN Detroit offers three distinct affairs:
COCKTAILS BY DESIGN / Artworks Auction, 6 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, will feature over 30 completed designer tablescapes on display and live and silent auctions of more than 200 original works of art and jewelry from metro Detroit's most prominent artists and designers. The evening will also include live entertainment and a strolling supper prepared by 25 of southeastern Michigan's best chefs. Tickets to COCKTAILS BY DESIGN are $100 each.
Public Open House NOON-5 p.m. / PARTY BY DESIGN, 6 p.m. Friday, September 23, invites design students, young adults interested in the field of design and the general public to view the installations.
The venue closes from 5-6 p.m.
PARTY BY DESIGN begins at 6 p.m. and offers a live band, snacks and a cash bar creating a fun atmosphere for young adults to tour the venue. Tickets are $10 each.
DINING BY DESIGN Gala Dinner event, 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 24, pairs local interior designers, graphic and industrial designers, artists and architects with corporate and individual table sponsors to create three-dimensional dining environments and tablescapes. DINING BY DESIGN will feature a cocktail reception, open bar and dinner within the designer table installations - prepared by the Matt Prentice Restaurant Group - live entertainment and an experiential auction of more than 100 items. Tickets to the Gala Dinner are $250 each.
