The Smart Metering UK & Europe Awards for 2013 have been announced
Recognizing the most successful businesses in the industry; our Smart Metering UK and Europe Award winners have been announced. With a variety of eleven Awards presented for Solution Providers and Utilities, the winners were carefully selected through an independent judging panel of industry experts.
- (1888PressRelease) January 26, 2013 - London - On the 24th & 25th of January 2013, the Smart Metering UK and Europe Summit began with an outstanding turnout. The Summit saw over three hundred Utilities, Solution Providers and Industry Experts convene and share expert knowledge with partners and potential clients. Oliver Kinross organised the Smart Metering UK and Europe Awards to highlight the achievements of highly reputable Solution Providers and Utilities. The awards were presented at an exclusive Gala Dinner at the Lancaster Hotel in London.

The Solution Provider Awards were the first category to be announced. For the Network and Communications Award; Echelon was a company that surpassed all others due to their strong focus on consumer outputs and extensive use of open-source technologies. The Home Energy Monitor Award 2013 was awarded to; Eseye who are known to have created a large number of excellent home energy monitoring devices. An award which focused on the diverse technologies available in the large metering market was the Smart Metering Technology of the Year Award 2013 which was won by; Renesas Electronics.
This years Smart Meter Data Management & Solution Award 2013 went to a company that focuses on delivering consumer benefits and innovative software; O-Power. A unique and proven service solution for smart metering that stood out amongst other entrants was TOA Technologies, the winners of the Smart Metering Service Provider Award. Dr Neuhaus Telekommunikation was awarded the much desired; Innovation of the Year Award 2013, due to their communication module which displayed impressive versatility. The Smart Water Metering Innovation of the Year Award went to a company that has a solved the customer engagement issue for Water Metering by allowing customers to analyse and track their water usage; Green Energy Options. The last award was picked up by Dr Neuhaus Telekommunikation was the Cyber Security Award 2013 displaying their excellence throughout the industry by winning two awards.
In the second half of the ceremony the Utility Awards were presented. Beginning with the Roll-out Innovation Award 2013, this went to Delta Netwerkbedrijf for their impressive technological advancements. The Customer Services Innovation Award 2013 which was taken by a company who have received excellent customer feed back and results; British Gas Business. For the final award, there was a number of very strong entrants and the category was tight but this company shone through others; winning the Utility of the Year Award 2013; Fortum.
