  • New York, NY (1888PressRelease) December 28, 2012 - Celebrating the holiday season, British-American rockers The Small Hours are giving fans a free four-song EP treat titled "Ether and Make Believe." Featuring a mix of bitingly cynical lyrics and haunting yet accessible melodies, the indie band's latest release includes the songs "I Don't Mind," "When the Dust Blows," "Eyes to the Side" and "Perversion for Profit."

"Ether and Make Believe" is being distributed globally by New Zealand-based Coldwater Entertainment, and is available now for digital download on iTunes (https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/ether-and-make-believe-ep/id588418359), Amazon, Spotify, eMusic, Google Play, Rhapsody, iHeart Radio and Xbox Live, amongst others, and, for a limited time, as a free download on Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/the-small-hours/sets/ether-and-make-believe. Videos for the songs "Perversion for Profit" and "I Don't Mind" can be found at http://youtu.be/51CQunzgrJg and http://youtu.be/VsKXeyCGN2c respectively.

Often compared to early Muse, Radiohead, Elbow and Queens of the Stone Age, The Small Hours are a four-piece, British-American rock band comprised of Robin Goodchild (vocals, guitar) Edward Shiers (drums), John Bennett (guitar) and John Armstrong (bass). "Ether and Make Believe" follows the band's 2011 full-length record, "The Battle of Airstrip One."

"'Ether and Make Believe' contains just a sampling of the edgier music that we've been working on over the last year," said Robin Goodchild. "I spend a lot of time in the upper registers on this EP. This is the first of three releases we'll be putting out within a year and each will have a slightly different feel. We're excited for fans to hear them all."

"Ether and Make Believe" was recorded at Atlantic Studios in Hollywood, CA. The EP is self-produced by the band and was engineered by John Armstrong. All songs were written by The Small Hours.
