The 103,108-square-foot open-air lifestyle center in Reading, Pa., is owned by the New York-based Garrison Investment Group and managed by Levin Management. Kathy Sawin of specialty retail consultants The Sawin Group is the leasing representative for the center.
Berkshire Shoe & Boot Shoppe recently opened a 1,984-square-foot store, while Menchey Music, a full-service music retailer and school offering on-premise music lessons, opened in 3,395 square feet in early September. In addition, fashion jeweler and accessory retailer Charming Charlie will follow with the opening of a 6,000-square-foot store in mid-October.
"Berkshire Boot & Shoe and Charming Charlie are terrific additions to the strong apparel mix, two more destination retailers that will attract more discerning shoppers in the trade area," said Melissa Sievwright, director of marketing for Levin Management. "Menchey Music complements the destination family retail concept of The Shoppes."
The trio of new retailers joins a tenant roster that includes established stores such as Children's Place, Chico's, Ann Taylor Loft, Coldwater Creek, Justice and Jos. A. Bank. Situated at the intersection of Routes 222 and 422 in Reading, The Shoppes at Wyomissing serves a growing residential population of 194,100 within a five-mile radius. The marketplace offers an average household income of more than $62,000, and the daily traffic count is in excess of 88,000 vehicles.
"The Shoppes at Wyomissing, with its targeted collection of national and regional apparel and specialty retailers in one convenient shopping environment, has been a tremendous amenity to the greater Berks County area," said Sawin. "Berkshire Shoe & Boot co-owner Perry Clissa has told us that he is very happy with the customer response to his vast assortment of branded shoes such as Allen Edmonds, Clark's, Merrell and Dansko."
The center has two remaining availabilities including a 1,800-square-foot freestanding unit approved for food service use, and a 6,000-square-foot fully fixtured restaurant space with a liquor license. "We are seeing a great deal of interest in those availabilities," said Sawin.
