The Science Behind ART Conference Explores Latest Advances in IVF
The Science Behind ART (Assisted Reproduction Technique), a specialized medical conference focusing on the latest advances in the field of In vitro fertilization (IVF), has opened in the capital.
- (1888PressRelease) May 24, 2015 - Abu Dhabi, UAE- The event, which is being held at the Jumeirah Etihad Towers, is being organized by IVI-GCC, a new clinic that has opened to tackle critical issues in infertility and to facilitate the introduction and practice of new solutions and technologies.
Conference chair Dr. Human M. Fatemi, MD, PhD and Director of Middle East operations at IVI Fertility Abu Dhabi, explained that the event aims to raise the profile and importance of IVF, by discussing the latest technologies, techniques, research and advancements made in the field.
"There are vital issues that need to be discussed and new research that addresses complex social and behavioral perspectives around reproductive infertility. IVI's clinics worldwide have amassed considerable knowledge and expertise in this field and will be sharing this knowledge with IVF experts from the UAE and throughout the region," Dr Fatemi said.
IVI has pioneered and advanced in vitro treatment around its clinics internationally, and aims to hold "The Science Behind ART" conference annually as a platform for IVF specialists to network and update their knowledge. The event in Abu Dhabi has gathered a faculty of distinguished global speakers and is expected to be attended by over 250 delegates from the UAE and the region.

Over the past few years there has been a considerable rise in the use of artificial methods to conceive, across the Middle East and especially among the urban population. Dr Fatemi explained that the incidence of infertility is linked to both medical and key social factors, such as obesity, diabetes, Vitamin D deficiency and late marriages.
"While the fertility market in the GCC is growing exponentially, there is a clear need to address pressing issues such lack of standardized clinical protocols, structured training, quality laboratories, qualified embryologists and ethical practices," said Dr Fatemi.
The Science Behind ART conference will award health care professionals with up to 5.75 Continuing Medical Education (CME) Hours from the Health Authority Abu Dhabi (HAAD). The event is being managed by Synovetics, a leading healthcare events company.
