- San Francisco, CA (1888PressRelease) November 13, 2011 - The San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center (SFCAPC) Auxiliary invites the community to the second annual Winter Wonderland Tea taking place on Sunday, November 27th from 1 p.m to 3 p.m. at Alexandra's on the 32nd floor of the Westin St. Francis in Union Square. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Center's mission of preventing child abuse and neglect, promoting healthy families and the mental health of children.
Guests are invited to share the spirit of the season with loved ones and introduce them to the time-honored tradition of an elegant holiday tea. Children will enjoy a festive afternoon of face painting, activities, and some special costumed friends at this fun family event.
"With increased pressure of the continued economic recession and impact of the upcoming holiday season, which can always be stressful on families, we are on heightened alert that kids are ever more at risk of serious abuse or neglect," said Katie Albright, Executive Director of the San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center. "That's why it is important to raise funds to support children and parents alike at the Center with counseling, educational programs, and other necessary supportive services. We all have a role to play in protecting children in our community."
Please consider bringing a new, unwrapped gift for the Center's holiday toy drive. For more information or to purchase tickets, please visit https://sfcapc.ejoinme.org/?tabid=251328.
About the San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center
For nearly four decades, the programs of the San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center have served the community's most vulnerable Bay Area children and families. The San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center is dedicated to the prevention of child abuse and neglect, the promotion of healthy families and the mental health of children. With direct crisis and intervention programs designed to reduce parental stress, enhance parenting skills and provide comprehensive services for families in need, we provide open-ended support and help families break the cycle of violence. As one of the most comprehensive services providers in San Francisco, we also offer education, training programs and public advocacy for child abuse prevention. In 1998, the Center joined the 25-year histories of the San Francisco Child Abuse Council and TALK Line Family Support Center to form the San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center.
