  • (1888PressRelease) February 25, 2012 - Hertfordshire based opera singer Neil Simon is starring in St Albans Chamber Opera's production of "Madame Butterfly" from the 20th to the 25th March at the Abbey Theatre in St. Albans.

Neil Simon, otherwise known as "The Romantic Tenor" is playing the 'baddy' Pinkerton in "Madame Butterfly", and is looking forward to playing a challenging role. Neil said "Pinkerton is young, arrogant and naïve. He doesn't appreciate the implications of what he is doing by marrying Butterfly. Only when he returns to Japan, does he learn the full extent of his error of judgement. I am really looking forward to performing the role; the music is fantastic and the soloists and production are stunning".
Neil has performed in a number of operas and concerts; recent performances include Verdi's Requiem and Ferrando in Cosi fan tutte. Neil also performs for corporate events and private special occasions, as 'The Romantic Tenor'; singing a variety of Italian Love Songs, Operatic Arias and crossover music. His busy schedule has recently included performances at Banqueting House London and an event for the Italian Ambassador.

The production features professional soloists and orchestra and is from 20th - 25th March at The Abbey Theatre St Albans. The box office number for more details is 01727 857861
