  • Toledo, OH (1888PressRelease) October 16, 2010 - The Retirement Guys Network will close their office on Monday, October 18th to volunteer at the Habitat for Humanity in Wood County. The staff will spend the entire day cleaning and organizing supplies and equipment to help the charity prepare for its next restocking and home-building campaign. The volunteer day, initiated by owners Nolan Baker and Mark Clair, is part of their ongoing commitment to help out local charities and organizations in their home area.

"I'm thankful we were able to help our local Habitat for Humanity behind the scenes and reorganize some of their building supplies and equipment. Mark and I decided to close our doors for the day as part of our initiative to give back to the community we consider our family," said Nolan Baker, Chief Financial Officer of The Retirement Guys Network and an Investment Advisor Representative with NEXT Financial Group, Inc., member FINRA/SIPC. Co-owner and attorney-at-law Mark Clair said, "Sometimes, you just need to take time and stop your busy schedule to give back to others. Our staff felt it was time for us to give back to our community during these rough economic times."

According to www.wchabitat.org, Habitat for Humanity of Wood County is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. The organization works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged. Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat houses. Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor - "sweat equity" - into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Humanity that is used to build more houses in Wood County.

The Retirement Guys, Nolan Baker and Mark Clair, teamed up in 2001 to educate Toledo's pre-retired and retired populations on how to achieve and protect their financial freedoms throughout their retirement years. Nolan Baker and Mark Clair have been heard throughout Northwest Ohio for over 9 years now on 1370 AM radio each Saturday at 1 p.m. The Retirement Guys avidly support the Northwest Ohio area through regular involvement with local organizations including Cedar Creek Church and Seagate Food Bank.
