The Project Habit, a new book by The Core Collaborative Learning Network authors, is now available for purchase on Amazon
The book presents steps teachers and school systems can take to develop small, everyday habits that will make rigorous project based learning (PBL) doable in any classroom. Teachers who are new to PBL as well as experienced practitioners will find actionable strategies that can be layered one-by-one or incorporated wholly into classroom practice.
- San Diego, CA (1888PressRelease) June 14, 2023 - The Project Habit builds upon a foundation of rigorous PBL, in which project design and actional habits are tailored to integrate surface, deep, and transfer levels of learning. All students are empowered to gain foundational knowledge and skills, build meaning through collaboration, and apply their learning to new situations. This book aims to make rigorous PBL accessible to all learners and teachers.
"We wrote this book to support every teacher in feeling like they are a part of innovation, that they are going after the work of equity in a thoughtful and proactive manner, that they are promoting high levels of rigor each and every day," said Michael McDowell, co-author of the book. "We want students to become their own teachers through the collaborative work with educators in the classroom."
The book is already receiving praise from experts. Professor John Hattie describes it as "stunning" and school principals have called the work “the ultimate tool to add to a teacher’s toolbox.”
