The Ovaltines New Single - 'Here She Comes Now' Released by The Blurry World Records on 21st October
Following on from the album 'Inside our Heads', the Ovaltines are releasing their atmospheric cover of the Velvet Underground's 'Here She Comes Now'.
- (1888PressRelease) October 04, 2012 - Taking the authentic feeling of late 60's Art Rock and bringing it bang up to date the track is a joyful adventure through both retro and new wave east coast pop.
Citing inspiration from legends The Velvet Underground, The Vaselines, and The Pastels, to newer trail blazers like Veronica Falls, Brilliant Colours and Crystal Stilts, New Jersey's The Ovaltines clearly aren't limited in taste. The guitar dense, fuzz-folk soundscape highlights Jaime Piacente's uniquely enchanting vocals and compliments Dave Schurtman's own calming pipes, creating a tranquil, dreamy atmosphere that instantly commands any and all attention.
The couple met in art school in NYC circa 1996, re-connected years later only to fall in love, get married and end up working together in a sleezy corporate nightmare job on Staten Island. With their ever-elevating discontent becoming somewhat overwhelming, as life-long, die-hard music fans and record collectors, the next natural step was towards the time honoured tradition of venting their frustrations in the musical arena, releasing their 1st EP on their wedding anniversary. Relocating to a much less hectic life in Princeton, New Jersey, the pair have continued perfecting their craft and making their name as the voice of a lost generation, speaking to those of us falling between the cracks of an oft cruel world.
To go along with the single, the band have launched a video on Youtube. The video beautifully compliments the atmosphere of the track.
