  • (1888PressRelease) May 07, 2012 - The Orbis School recently concluded its 2nd Annual Day celebration which was a 3 day event held on 20, 21 & 22 Mar 2012.

The Chief Guests on the occasion were Mrs. Arnavaz Damania, former President of the Indian Women's Hockey Federation, Ms. Laleh Busheri, CEO Prashanti Cancer Care Mission, Mrs. Nusrat Sharif, Vice Chairperson of Anjuman-I- Islam Polytechnic for Girls and Mrs. Jayshree Mohd. Aslam, Chief Learning Officer of Little Millennium School. The 3 day extravaganza saw the performances of children from the Playgroup to Class 5, giving all the children of the school a chance to be on stage and be a part of the celebrations.

"Orbitria" derived from the word "Arbitria" Latin for awards was the apt title for the Annual Day which comprised of the presentation of the Annual Report by the Vice Principal Mrs Mala Jetly and speeches by the Chief Guests and awards galore to acknowledge and motivate the students. The Annual Report gave a brief of the growth of the school both in terms of the student and mentor strengths as well as the growth of the infrastructure.

In order to showcase the performance of the students and the choreography of the teachers a musical extravaganza was presented. The tiny tots in their colourful costumes and graceful steps enthralled the audience with their various performances, in which they enacted popular nursery rhymes, showed the advent of colour, and taught us the importance of eating healthy and staying fit.

The final day of the Orbitria concluded with the theatrical extravaganza, 'Pravaha… from the heavens to the earth.' The children showcased the journey of the river Ganga from the heavens to the earth and how it enriches the lives of everyone and everything it touches, how it gives selflessly and how we use it selfishly and pollute it. The show ended with a plea from the children to keep Ganga and all the other water bodies clean and pollution free. What an apt way to celebrate World Water Day!

The audience which consisted of guest and parents were appreciative of the splendid performances by the students and the development and growth of the school.
