The Oldest And Largest Glass Art Exhibition In The United States Hosted In Royal Oak Michigan! Habatat Galleries International Art Glass Invitational
This is the exhibitions 40th anniversary! Over 100 artists from over 20 different countries. Art Glass is considered a young art form. 40 years ago these same artist made vessels and now these vessels have morphed into sculpture as a Craft became an Art. Starting Saturday, April 28th at 8:00 pm Habatat Galleries will host the 40th Annual International Glass Invitational, the oldest and largest contemporary glass exhibition in the United States, located at 4400 Fernlee Ave., in Royal Oak - Michigan.
This exhibition inspired April as Michigan Glass Month which for over 25 years offers 30 or more glass events held throughout the State of Michigan.
Thousands of enthusiastic people from Michigan and around the world visit these events. It should be a source of pride for those of us that live in this State.
2012 is the 50th anniversary of the beginning of studio glass in the United States. 165 Museums are participating including the DIA and 10 other museums from Michigan. This is the largest cooperative cultural arts event in the history of the United States.
