Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) November 15, 2011 - The Night Mothers release their debut single "Sunrise" today on iTunes! Legendary producer Gary Katz (Steely Dan) produced the single. Alex Ruiz, the lead singer, from the band Del Castillo, which has released 6 successful albums, fronts The Night Mothers. He also sings lead in Chingon (with movie producer/director Robert Rodriguez). Both bands have been featured in movie soundtracks such as Kill Bill 2, Once Upon a Time in Mexico, and Sin City. The Night mothers also includes the talent and soul of Jeff Plankenhorn and Albert Besteiro both co-writers/guitar players.

Among the bands accomplishments, Alex's was invited to write and perform for "Voices of a Grateful Nation". This project was put forth by Charles Gallagher and Jamie Oldaker (former drummer of Eric Clapton) in support of the homecoming troops!

Within the last ten years, Alex Ruiz has recorded with artists such as Willie Nelson. The song recorded was "I Never Cared for You", which has now become Willie Nelson's favorite version. Most recently he has collaborated with Willie Nelson, Carlos Santana, Los Lonely Boys, Mana and many other well known artists on the compilation, "Project of Love", in memory of Cesar Chavez and dedicated to the spirit of the labor workers from Central and South America.
