  • Atlanta, GA (1888PressRelease) April 29, 2013 - Oz Publishing is hosting this event in conjunction with the release of The Industry Yearbook: 40 Years of Georgia's Film & Television Industry. Friday evening is open by invitation only to film and television industry professionals. Saturday evening is the VIP Gala open to the public. Tickets for the event are $75 in advance, $100 day of event. No one under 21 admitted. For tickets and more information, go to www.thenextcoolevent.com.

More than three hundred set designers, interior designers, event designers, location scouts, wardrobe specialists and others who are in the business of creating movie and TV magic come together to show off their skills by creating art installations or sets inspired by a film or television series. Regional catering companies will supply a vast array of samples and there will be an open bar.

This year's event celebrates forty years of film and television production, marking the anniversary of Governor Jimmy Carter's creation of the Georgia Film, Music & Digital Entertainment Office in 1973. Friday, May 3, is reserved for credentialed film and television executives and personnel (past and present). Expected attendees included Ms. Lee Thomas, Director of the Georgia Film, Music and Digital Entertainment Office, as well as many of the cast and crew from current productions such as Walking Dead, Vampire Diaries, Necessary Roughness and Devious Maids.

Since Gov. Purdue's signing of the 2008 Georgia Entertainment Industry Investment Act, which boosted the state tax credit for qualified production and post-production by as much as 30 percent, filming in Georgia has continued to grow at a record pace. Georgia is now one of the top 5 production destinations in the country.

Barbara English, founder of To The Trade Only and producer of The Next Cool Event, credits the influx of the film industry with a revitalization of the Atlanta design industry. "Five years ago when the housing market and economy were spiraling downward and a seemingly endless stream of design and creative businesses were going under, the surge of entertainment professionals working in, and relocating to, Georgia created a unique opportunity for Atlanta creative professionals to sustain and grow their businesses. To help locals connect with industry folks pouring in from Los Angeles and elsewhere, we created a massive showcase of the talent and skills available in Georgia and invited the film industry to the party."

In the past four years, the event has become the premier showcase of creative design genius as participants and guests now collaborate to show off their immense talents.

This year, the event is benefiting Wellspring Living through cash donations at the door both nights. Wellspring Living's mission is to confront the issue of childhood sexual abuse and exploitation through awareness, training, and treatment programs for women and girls. Atlanta ranks in the top three cities nationwide in terms of child prostitution, and most of those children are not on the streets voluntarily.

Le Fais do do is at 1611 Ellsworth Industrial Boulevard, Atlanta, in the heart of the West Midtown Design District. A limited number of tickets available to the general public will be on sale at Ticket Alternative or through the official website at www.TheNextCoolEvent.com.
