The Newley Launched Podcast The Go With John Show Supports “Safe at Home” Charity Fundraiser
The Go With John Show raises money for a local Virginia charity event in Reston, VA.
- (1888PressRelease) February 25, 2021 - Reston, VA – The Go With John Show, a podcast heard world-wide puts its focus on everyday people who build something extraordinary. The host, John Jorgenson, sits down with Jennifer Jacobs, the Executive Director for the Albemarle Housing Improvement Program, a Virginia-based nonprofit that helps keep people in their homes by doing critical repairs that would otherwise force families to find alternate shelter.
This thought-provoking episode not only raised awareness for this much-needed project in Virginia but also raised funds to support it. During the show, AHIP launched its Community Challenge to raise funds for families who need a safe, warm place to live. The donations would go straight to families who cannot afford to make certain repairs to their homes to feel a sense of calm during these unprecedented times combined with the Virginia winter weather.
As part of the Community Challenge, The Go With John Show announced during the interview that the show would match up to $2500 of the donations made during the charity event. AHIP raised, to include the match from The Go With John show, $6700 for those families in need.
When asked about his participation, John Jorgenson says “We value our community, if there is an opportunity to help raise awareness and contribute financially to a charity that will pass those donations along straight to those in need, we are all in!”
The news of the fundraiser is on the heels of the Go With John Show, which launched at the end of 2020, celebrating its 10th episode. The Go With John Show can be heard on Podbean, Apple podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher and YouTube. New episodes drop every Thursday. www.gowithjohn.com.
