In the midst of economic turmoil, a new generation gets a chance to learn from past mistakes. In Washington, the economic debate continues. Public schools are struggling to do their best with less; all the while teachers are losing jobs in record numbers. Yet, within our schools there is little or no curriculum to teach financial matters, and few teachers trained in financial education. Children today need a revolution in the way financial principals are taught.
James Christianson, President and CEO of Child Stocks Inc. has a strong conviction that he is creating innovative, long-term solutions to the challenges currently facing this country. "I created this idea when my young daughter Melana was only three years old. I was day trading when she asked me "daddy did you miss the trade"? I decided to get her invested into some companies that she knows and see's everyday. About two weeks later when walking into Wal-Mart my daughter looked up at the sign and turned to me and said "daddy I own part of this". I was amazed at her response and decided to help children financially" Mr. Christianson said.
To this end, he is proud to introduce MyLearn2Earn; the new children's educational computer game designed to teach youngsters from age's four to seven, basic financial literacy. It's a start in the right direction, giving children a much needed head start. We will continue our development to soon reach children in all age brackets to the age of fourteen" the founder of mylearn2earn said. Specifically, the lessons involve teaching kids how to earn money, save money, responsibly spend money, and ultimately, how to invest money.
Credit card companies have, for decades preyed on youth; combing America's campuses for new players in their quest to feed billions in profits; setting the stage for these young adults to becoming financial slaves to a system of which they have little understanding. At Child Stocks Inc, they have accepted the challenge to create a teaching tool that will set the standard for financial education, providing the tools and laying the building blocks early on for a lifetime of financial freedom. "I can just imagine a child telling their parent " I have a credit score of seven fifty in mylearn2earn said Mr. Christianson.
MyLearn2Earn uses real-world scenarios designed to teach kids the value of basic household chores in a number of indoor and outdoor environments they can use in their daily lives. All of the games and scenarios are narrated and taught by fun and exciting animated characters centered on stimulating storylines (Pet Rescue, Bicycle Adoption, Etc.) intended to get children interested and involved. It is through this involvement that financial literacy is developed. Additionally, we have included a number of hilarious animated clips designed to further teach children basic social skills and manners.
Special needs children are a high priority in the development of MyLearn2Earn. We believe the lessons are as valuable to them in their challenging world as to any other child. For this reason, we have partnered with a number of local and nationally recognized education professionals to design alternate versions of the game for children with special needs, specifically those with higher functioning Autism and Asperger's Syndrome. Additionally, a version of the game is currently being developed to accommodate the hearing impaired.
In today's current financial climate, the timing could not be better for a project of this type. It is believed by many that the struggles we are facing in our current recession and with the mortgage crisis are, at their core due to a lack of a solid financial foundation, and that financial learning and discipline have actually declined with each passing decade. MyLearn2Earn directly addresses these issues with fun, practical, foundational lessons that are easily understood and can be applied by children of all ages.
At Child Stocks Inc, our philosophy is that knowledge is the key to financial success, and it is our sincere conviction that all children should have the opportunity to learn and succeed. With MyLearn2Earn, that knowledge is now within their grasp.
