The NC Center For Women In Public Service Announces 2012 Women In Office Institute
Institute Prepares Women To Seek and Serve In Public Office.
- Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) March 17, 2012 - The NC Center for Women in Public Service (NCCWPS) (http://www.nccwps.org), a nonpartisan organization that prepares women for elected and appointed offices statewide, has announced that its intensive, nonpartisan training program, the Women in Office Institute, will be held Thursday, June 28 through Sunday, July 1 and Thursday, July 26 through Saturday, July 28 at William Peace University, located at 15 E. Peace St. in Raleigh.
An intensive seven-day residential program, the Women in Office Institute is an introduction to what is involved in public service work, including appointed and elected office. Participants will walk away with a clear understanding of the skills needed to seek elected or appointed office. Those accepted into the program must commit to attending all components of the Institute. Ideal candidates are those who are knowledgeable about specific issues that affect their community, want to learn how to shape that knowledge into action, perceive themselves as leaders (as do others), and have a deep interest in public service in North Carolina.
