The National Steinbeck Center Hires Marcos Cabrera as Curator of Marketing and Community Engagement
Just Announced! The National Steinbeck Center in Salinas has added Marcos Cabrera to its staff!
- Salinas, CA (1888PressRelease) September 10, 2013 - The National Steinbeck Center's Executive Director Colleen Bailey has announced that Marcos Cabrera will join the National Steinbeck Center as the new Curator of Marketing and Community Engagement on September 3, 2013.
A local media veteran with two decades of professional journalism experience, Cabrera is recognized for his reporting stints at the Monterey County Herald and the Salinas Californian. Cabrera studied creative writing at CSU-East Bay, and was a 2009 Fellow in the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Arts Journalism Institute in Theater and Musical Theater. Cabrera is a founding member of the Chicano Teatro/Performing Arts troupe Baktun 12 and co-founded the Teen Salinas Speaks spoken word poetry group.
