The National Association Of Securities Professionals Present Encore Vi-awards Celebration, Scholarship Fundraiser In Detroit
On Wednesday, April 18th at 6:00 p.m. at the Detroit Athletic Club, over 300 NASP-Detroit members and guests will convene to celebrate their highly anticipated event, Encore VI - "A Shared Vision: awarding over $ 200,000 to over 200 students."
- Detroit, MI (1888PressRelease) April 12, 2012 - The National Association of Securities Professionals (NASP) is a nonprofit, 501(c)(6) association comprised of professionals in the securities industry. NASP brings together the nation's minorities and women who have achieved recognition in the industry as brokers, asset managers, public finance consultants, investment bankers, bond counsel, commercial bank underwriters, investors, plan sponsors and other finance professionals.
The 6th annual awards ceremony and scholarship banquet fundraiser will take place at the grand and historic Detroit Athletic Club located at 241 Madison Avenue, in downtown Detroit. Tickets are $150. The proceeds will go towards scholarships for financially challenged college students of metro Detroit.
This awards ceremony and scholarship banquet fundraiser will also honor four distinguished and well deserving individuals who have made a significant contribution or whose work has resulted in making an impactful difference to the financial services industry and community.
This year's honorees include:
• Emerging Leadership Award - The Honorable Brenda Jones, Detroit City Council, Detroit Police & Fire Trustee
• Measure of Excellence Award -Cheryl Johnson, Group Executive/Finance Director, Trustee, Detroit PFRS & GRS
• "Unsung" Hero Award - Walter Stampor, Executive Administrator, COD Retirement Systems
• Community "Warrior" Award - KEM, Motown Recording Artist
The Diversity Achievement Award (a special recognition), will be presented to both Ford Motor Company and UAW/VEBA during this year's event. Mayor Dave Bing's Chief of Staff, Kirk Lewis will be on hand to present one of the evening's awards.

"Since 2007, the NASP-Detroit/Shafter Terry III Scholarship Fund awarded over $170,000 in scholarship funds to deserving students," says Colin. Eugene Duffy, Sr. Executive Vice President Paradigm Asset Management Co., LLC., will serve as event Emcee.
