The Nancy Ferrari Show Features Elle Febbo
The Nancy Ferrari Show, on KNOC 1680 AM Radio features Elle Febbo, a former Orangewood Children's Home resident turned best-selling author.
- (1888PressRelease) May 23, 2012 - Granada Hills, CA. - Former Orangewood Children's Home resident turned best-selling author, Elle Febbo joins Nancy Ferrari to talk a little about the journey through foster care, and a lot about how the life they live today, can heal their yesterday. The Nancy Ferrari Show, airs every Wednesday @ 1:00 pm PST, on KNOC 1680 AM Radio.
The author says she's "grateful" to Orangewood, and to the Foundation for all they did for her as a child, and for all they continue to do for local children in need. She'll be calling special attention to the current needs for foster youth in Orange County, and across the nation.
"People like Nancy who lend their voice, offer us an opportunity to gain awareness, and become part of the solution", says the author, who continues, "It's startling to hear that as many as 46% of foster children do NOT have a high school diploma, and that close to 50% will experience homelessness, but it's the truth. It's also true that it doesn't need to be this way. OCF's focus is on the ongoing needs of children in the foster care system, and beyond. These kids are our future--they don't just disappear. In fact, I believe that they're being prepared for something more..."
Febbo will be requesting community support in contributing to the foundations food pantry for emancipated foster youth.
Her award winning best-seller, "What Love Is A-Z" has been used as a tool for fundraising for Orangewood Children's Home, and she's volunteered her time for the past 2 years to the OCF Career Fairs for Transitioning Foster Youth and other events. She's also an Advocate and Ambassador for Reading is Fundamental of Southern California (RIFSoCal), leads reading and child empowerment workshops for children and families through LAUSD and other local districts, and her award winning book, "What Love Is A-Z" is currently being used as a fundraising tool for the Citizens Commission on Human Rights of Florida (CCHR Florida).
"Whether it's time, tools, talents or dollars, every one of us has something to contribute...and, can you imagine if we did?"
