The Monthly Ritual at Beat Brasserie
Beat Brasserie Hosts Monthly Theatrical Cabaret with Live Music, Theatre & Special Performances.
- Boston, MA-NH (1888PressRelease) May 01, 2015 - WHAT: On Thursday, May 7th, 2015 Beat Brasserie is hosting its second "The Monthly Ritual," an ongoing theatrical cabaret held on the first Thursday of every month featuring great food and drink, live music, theatre, variety and other mystical revelations and surprises.
From 8:30PM to 12:00AM Johnny Blazes and the Pretty Boys, will take the stage with 3rian King for a self-described performance of glitter-filled soul and funk. Beginning in 2011 in Boston, The Pretty Boys give classic soul and funk songs an unapologetic flamboyance. Named one of Boston's rising stars, Johnny Blazes is known for his genre-bending, gender-blending, tongue-in-cheek performances. He draws from his training in theater, dance and voice to create a category-defying brand of vaudevillian performance that incorporates drag, burlesque, comedy and clowning. With the gender-defying voice of 3rian King from What Time Is It Mr. Fox? they deliver their own brand smoky cabaret, neo-soul and acoustic noir, sounding something like Tom Waits and Amy Winehouse performing in a French cafe.
Each month the band will be joined by a special "medium," and this May Allix Mortis, a mainstay of the Boston burlesque scene will be performing! Mortis will be joined by performances from Behind the Mask Studio & Theatre and Vadalna Tribal Dance Company. Guests will also have the experience of seeing their future with palm readings by Jennifer Badot and DJ Pussywillow will be casting beatspells all night long.
While enjoying the performances, guests are welcome to a full dinner with selections from Executive Chef Ignacio Lopez such as the Duck Tamales ($11), Thai Bowl with a choice of protein, red coconut curry, bok choy, potatoes, carrots, assorted Asian vegetables and jasmine rice ($22-28), and Baby Back Pork Rib Dinner with sweet chili sauce, whipped potatoes and slaw ($24.50). Wine enthusiasts will appreciate The Beat's acclaimed wine list featuring 36 American artisanal wines on tap and an acclaimed reserve list. Signature concoctions to imbibe include the Plimoth Daiquiri made with Privateer White rum, Barrow's ginger liqueur and pumpkin spiced simple syrup ($12.50) and the Smokey The Bear made with Old Overholt, Amere Nouvelle, Vya Sweet Vermouth and Balcones Brimstone Whisky ($13).
All are invited to invoke the spirits and raise a spirited glass! For more information or to make a reservation visit www.beathotel.com, or call 617.499.0001.
