- Chicago, IL (1888PressRelease) December 10, 2010 - The Mather, a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) in Evanston, Illinois, operated by Mather LifeWays, received two Gold Awards from the National Active Retirement Association (NARA). NARA recognized The Mather as being among the best of the best in the 50-plus and senior housing industry with a Gold Award for Best Continuing Care Retirement Community and another for Best Amenities in a Retirement Community. The Mather is one of only two nominees that received two Gold Awards which were presented at the NARA annual conference in October 2010.
The Mather features a 10,000-square-foot fitness center complete with a 20-meter indoor lap pool, seven dining venues and lounges, including rooftop dining with views of downtown Evanston, Lake Michigan and Chicago's skyline; 24-hour concierge service; and "plant-your-own" garden plots as part of nearly two acres of lush gardens. As a CCRC, The Mather also offers onsite health care, if needed.
The two buildings are located at 425 and 450 Davis Street and will be connected by a convenient, climate-controlled underground corridor. The Mather is one of the Chicago-area's newest and most comprehensive retirement communities, offering a full continuum of care from independent living through skilled nursing care.
