The London Underground Film Festival will this year be held between the 1st and 4th December 2011 at London's iconic Horse Hospital, featuring a Redemption film premiere, a live blood letting and video installation by Jon Jon, a Duncan Reekie retrospective, curation by Jack Sargeant and an opening party hosted by Princess Julia.

The London Underground Film Festival is all geared up to provoke, inspire and enthral with a programme of eclectic screenings, talks and performance from underground artists and filmmakers from across the globe. Setting up stall in the historic and eccentric environs of Bloomsbury's Horse Hospital, the Festival offers the rare chance to experience a long weekend dedicated to truly unconventional film by artists working well outside of the mainstream.
The programme kicks off on Thursday the 1st of December and continues until Sunday 4th December, and includes screenings, performances, discussions and exhibitions. Highlights include:
The premiere of a Redemption horror film
Features curated by Jack Sargeant;
A Duncan Reekie retrospective;
A live blood-letting / automatic writing performance and video installation by Jon John; and
Over 50 short films.

The London Underground Film Collective was founded in 2010. The festival accepted submissions of obscure, no budget, low budget, genre and genreless, new and recycled films. The films were then passed on to the review panel, which this year comprises four judges - Daniel Fawcett (One+One Filmmakers Journal), Giada Ghiringhelli (Video is the only Constant), Reen Polonski (GRAFT) and fashion designer Simon Preen (Urban Outfitters, ASOS).
LONDON UNDERGROUND FILM SESSIONS
During 2011 the London Underground Film Collective held monthly sessions at the Horse Hospital, presenting underground films exploring such diverse themes as psychedelic horror and celebrity obsession as well as showcasing exciting new work from film-makers working outside the mainstream.
OPENING PARTY
As well as the screenings and performances, the Festival will also be hosting an opening party, featuring performances by Gertrud Stein, Soft Riot, plus performance art, DJs, and MC Princess Julia.
