The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society announce Winners of Man and Woman of the Year
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) name Chad Plein and Arana Arth as their 2012 Southwest Missouri Man and Woman of the Year.
- Springfield, MO (1888PressRelease) June 13, 2012 - The Southwest Missouri Man and Woman of the Year campaign was a ten week fundraising campaign to raise funds for blood cancer research, support local families battling blood cancers, and to one day find a cure.
Chad Plein, a reporter and anchor on KY3, together with his campaign manager, Jay Scherder, raised the most funds of the four male candidates, while Arana Arth, Lead Infusion Nurse at Mercy Clinic-Cancer & Hematology Clinic/Oncology Infusion Center, raised the most funds of the three women candidates. Together, the Man & Woman of the Year raised more than $22,500 in just ten weeks.
The first runners up for the 2012 Man and Woman of the Year campaign were Seth Elliott, Managing Partner of Parlor 88, and Katie Kennington Vance, of Team National. Seth Elliott and Katie Kennington Vance combined raised nearly $20,000. Together, all seven candidates for the Man and Woman of the Year campaign raised just over $50,000.
Nearly 250 guests were on hand at The Savoy Ballroom on Thursday, June 7th, for the Grand Finale Gala to witness the announcement. Festivities included a silent and live auction, with auctioneer Glenn Yutzy from Glenworth Auctions presiding over the live auction. Hosts for the evening were Jay Fotsch of Power 96.5 and Shannon Miller, KOLR/KOZL TV.
