  • (1888PressRelease) July 23, 2014 - Today the Learning and Performance Institute (LPI), the global body for professional skills development and research in L&D, announced it will provide local operations and support for individuals and organisations in Australia and New Zealand.

By basing operations in Melbourne, Australia, the LPI is now uniquely positioned to help local businesses raise the standard and value of workplace learning, as well as support the growth of existing LPI Members and partner agencies in the region.

At the same time, the expansion into Australia allows the LPI to deliver its Certified Online Learning Facilitator (COLF) course at a local level, which had previously been managed from the UK.

Edmund Monk, LPI Managing Director, said today "This is an exciting move for us and a fantastic opportunity to welcome potential new members from Australia, New Zealand and the surrounding region. We have built the strongest learning and development community in the UK. There is no better time than now for us to move into the Australasian market."

LPI Chief Executive Officer, Colin Steed, added, "By expanding our team to cater for the Australia and New Zealand L&D community, we can now rapidly meet the needs of companies wanting to improve their performance and capability by adopting live online learning. Our COLF certification is the perfect vehicle for delivering virtual learning in this geographically extensive region."

Heading up operations will be Cheryle Walker, who has an impressive track record for transforming L&D functions at blue-chip companies, including National Australia Bank, where she engineered the digital learning strategy from inception to operation, built a successful delivery team, and significantly shifted the learning culture in the bank.

Walker said, "This is a great opportunity to introduce the LPI's innovative and successful COLF programme to the region. Companies that are curious about digital channels for learning will find immediate justification and benefits with COLF - an increased speed to competence, reduced travel expenses, more agile deployment of training and, of course, the internationally recognised LPI Certification.

She continued, "There are many companies in Australia and South East Asia that cannot provide complete training coverage due to employees working in geographically dispersed and remote offices. The LPI's COLF programme solves that problem."
