The L. Ron Hubbard Theatre: Transporting Imaginations to New Dimensions
The L. Ron Hubbard East Coast Theatre will deliver an old time radio style performance of the sci-fi story, The Dangerous Dimension, at the Scientology Information Center in downtown Clearwater, on Saturday August 18th at 6:30pm. There is no cost to attend and light refreshments will be served. All are welcome.
- (1888PressRelease) August 04, 2018 - In The Dangerous Dimension, Dr. Henry Mudge undergoes a striking personality change when he discovers a mathematical formula—“Equation C”—that defines a mysterious negative dimension. He is instantly transported to any location in the solar system by merely thinking of it—even when he doesn’t want to. This story not only marked L. Ron Hubbard's entry into the world of science fiction in the July 1938 issue of Astounding Science Fiction Magazine, but even more significant, it was the start of what came to be known as the Golden Age of Science Fiction.
The L. Ron Hubbard East Coast Theatre is a volunteer group founded in 2011. Their shows combine talented actors, costumes, lighting and sound effects to bring the exciting pulp-fiction stories written by L. Ron Hubbard to life.
“This is our debut performance of this sci-fi story at the Information Center and the audience is in for a real treat,” said Amber Skjelset, the Center’s Manager. “What would happen if mind over matter was really true – you’d have to be careful of what you think!”
L. Ron Hubbard was among the most prolific and popular writers of the 20th century. Indeed, between 1934 and 1940, some 140 L. Ron Hubbard tales appeared in the pages of legendary pulp magazines—often as many as three titles an issue and bylined under some fifteen pen names. With 19 New York Times bestsellers and more than 350 million copies of his works in circulation, Mr. Hubbard is among the most acclaimed and widely read authors of our time.
“I really enjoy these performances a lot,” said Bob, a regular guest. “I make an effort to attend all the performances I can. They make you feel like you’re there in the story and they’re great fun!”
Seating is limited. To reserve seats or to learn more about the event, contact Amber Skjelset, Manager of the Scientology Information Center at 727-467-6966 or amber ( @ ) cos dot flag dot org dot
