The Knowledge Group, the leading producer of regulatory focused webcasts, announced today that it has scheduled a live webcast entitled: Trade Secrets and Noncompete Agreements: Addressing Emerging Trends, Developments, and Issues in 2020.
- (1888PressRelease) June 17, 2020 - This event is scheduled on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm (ET).
Event Synopsis:
Employee and data shifting can pose significant non-compete and trade secrets issues to employers, providing yet another active landscape for legislative and judicial interventions. Because of this, most companies become overly concerned about their trade secrets and customer relationships being exposed to threats of attacks, may it be by their competitors or their own staff.
With this, several states have taken their respective initiatives to address the current challenges. In Washington for instance, the Engrossed Substitute House Bill 1450 which imposes restrictions on the admissibility of non-competition agreements was recently passed and is expected to take effect on January 2020. Moreover, states including Connecticut, Florida, Indiana, and Wyoming have introduced their plans to ban and/or limit physician noncompetes. Some states have also targeted technology, oil and gas, and other industry employees.
These significant legislations are crucial and call for businesses to be apace with the emerging trends and developments in this area of law and its potential impact on their trade secrets and non-compete agreements.
In this LIVE Webcast, trade secret lawyers John A. Stone (DeCotiis, FitzPatrick, Cole & Giblin, LLP) and Abraham Skoff (Moses & Singer) will discuss the latest developments and significant issues in trade secrets and non-compete agreements. Speakers will also offer the best compliance practices in light of the recent updates to avoid litigation risks.
