Late last year, Cuba’s Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment (MINCEX) released the list of its latest projects open to foreign participation. The 297-page compilation which is entitled “Portfolio of Opportunities for Foreign Investment” for 2016-2017 offers an impressive number of business opportunities, which is insofar the highest since 2014. The step, which is viewed as one of the country's strategies to boost its slow-paced foreign investment, caters varied business ventures and opportunities including but not limited to healthcare, tourism, transportation, mining and agriculture.
